Two works by Ed Ruscha — one of the most significant artists of the late 20th century — were gifted to the Los Angeles Public Library on November 15, 2019. Library Drop and Book Return are hard-ground etchings on Dieu Donné handmade cotton paper from 1995. They were presented by Russell Brown, Linda Brown and Tracy Lew from the James Corcoran Gallery to City Librarian John Szabo in the rare books room of the downtown Central Library.
