Love On 4 Paws
- Love On 4 Paws (LO4P) is a non-profit, volunteer-based organization committed to making a positive difference through animal-assisted therapy. LO4P’s emphasis is visiting with adults and special needs children in hospitals and healthcare facilities, although they also visit schools and participate in community events. MaddocksBrown Foundation’s President Russell Brown volunteered with his cat, Lars, for three years, visiting three facilities per month. He also served as LO4P’s first fundraising coordinator. In this position, he wrote grant requests, which led to almost $100,000 in gifts in its first year and provided expertise to LO4P to help develop a strategy for long-term survival. With the help of an additional grant from MaddocksBrown, LO4P was able to host its first board retreat and training, and has since hired its first formal staff position.
