Palm Springs Art Museum

  • The MaddocksBrown Foundation lent three Maya Lin works–“Arctic Circle” (2013), “Latitude New York City” (2013) and “Equator” (2014) to exhibit in the Palm Springs Art Museum’s reinstalled contemporary art gallery. Collectively titled Around the World (2013-14), the three-part floor sculpture is comprised of components cut out of Vermont Danby marble that form concentric circles and represent the topography of the ocean floor. The works were on view from October 2019 alongside the museum’s permanent collection and played a central role in the museum’s programming, particularly during Modernism Week in February, 2020.
